Rebates and incentives vary depending on your location, system size and the date of installation.

In Victoria, most customers qualify for Solar Victoria rebates for solar PV and battery systems – however everyone should check their eligibility via the Solar Victoria website. We guide you through the application process and ensure all documentation meets the program’s compliance standards, so you receive every benefit you’re entitled to — without the confusion.Solar and battery systems are also eligible for Small-scale Technology Certificates (STC’s) under the federal government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES). There’s a bit involved in claiming these, but the good news is, Alpex handles all the paperwork for you!

STC’s are like shares and are traded on the Renewable Energy Certificate Registry. The number of STC’s your solar and/or battery system is eligible for depends on; the size of your system (in kWh), the location (postcode) and the installation date. STC value will decrease incrementally up until the program’s scheduled end date in 2030.

Single-phase power is delivered through two wires — one active, one neutral — and the current flows in a smooth back-and-forth rhythm. It’s perfect for homes and most small loads like lights, fridges, and air-conditioners.

Three-phase power uses three active wires (each carrying current at slightly different times) and one neutral. This creates a more even and constant supply, ideal for bigger buildings, workshops, and machinery that needs more power or runs large/sensitive motors. It’s steadier, more efficient and reduces strain on equipment.

Single-phase power suits most homes, but if you have high power demand (large HVAC systems, workshops, EV charging, induction cooking, etc), three-phase can provide smoother power delivery.
Importantly three-phase properties can also accept much larger solar installations.Upgrading can improve performance and reduce voltage drop across your property. During our site inspection, we’ll assess your current supply and advise if an upgrade would be worthwhile.

Not necessarily! A well-designed solar system without a battery can still offset the majority of your daytime power use.
A battery becomes valuable when your evening usage is high, you aren’t home to utilise solar throughout the day, or if you want protection from grid outages.

We can also design your system so you can easily add a battery later, without replacing hardware.

We only use panels, inverters, and batteries from brands with proven reliability and strong Australian warranty support. Every product we install is tested for performance in local conditions — not just lab settings.

We select our products based on longevity and after-sales support, not short-term discounts.

The physical installation of a rooftop solar system is usually completed in one to two days, depending on roof access, switchboard condition, and system size. Commercial and hybrid battery systems may take longer.

Following installation, the system must be inspected by an independent Licenced Electrical Inspector (LEI) who will confirm the system meets Australian Standards, this is usually completed within 7 days of installation depending on inspector availability.Other administrative tasks including: pre-approval, STC and rebate applications, post-install paperwork and Emergency Backstop testing are completed on site or at our office, within 48 hours of installation being completed.

We handle everything — permits, compliance, and testing — so your system is safe, certified, and ready to perform.

Solar systems are low-maintenance, but not maintenance-free.
We recommend a professional inspection of residential systems every 2 years – our biannual audit checklist is comprehensive and ensures the ongoing safety and performance of your system.

Alpex offers ongoing service agreements and remote performance checks to make sure your system keeps working as efficiently as the day it was installed.

Yes. We regularly perform inspections, fault-finding, and upgrades for systems installed by others. Whether you’re seeing reduced output, inverter faults, or want to add storage, we can assess the system and bring it up to current standards.

Your solar system becomes part of the property value — and a professionally installed system with compliance records can make your home more attractive to buyers. We can assist with documentation and transfer of monitoring software accounts to the new owner if needed.

Xavier came out to check a faulty hot water system on 20/6/2025 at my Mums home in Bright. He came out on the day, response time was great. He was a good communicator, informative, courteous and generally a nice person to deal with. Unable to find anything wrong with the unit which later turned out to be a plumbing problem, he did not charge a call out fee saying he couldn’t charge a fee when didn’t fix anything, something that would be unheard of in Melbourne. I will not hesitate to call Alpex Electrical in the future for any electrical issues at our Bright home. Thanks again Xavier.
